Leave it to God

Do not say that you are the best
Or you could stand above the rest
Do not say that you are an island
For we all need a helping hand

In this world where we all lived
Life maybe is complicated
The ups and downs that we all meet
Are all part of our life on earth

All the trials that we experience
Are likened to hurdle or wall of fence
But no matter how tall it can be
To surpass it, there’s an easy way

The easiest way is through God
If we trust Him, He will be glad
There are no ifs and buts
For when we ask, He grants

Worry no more about the wall
Nor have fear of any hurdle
For we could overcome any hindrance
Just give your trust and leave it to God’s hands

Trust Me

So many times you’ve asked me
If how much I care for you
So many times I answered
More than anyone else can do

The question you asked to me
Seems to bother me my dear
For it appears that in your heart
There is uncertainty and fear

I feel your lack of trust
And fear that I’ll leave you
For your action speaks of your thought
Even if you won’t say it so

I want to tell you to relax
And have peace within your heart
Don’t get upset with useless thought
For we will never be apart

I will not run away from you
Nor I will hurt you my dear
And to give tears in your eyes
Is what I will do never

Saying I'm Sorry

"I’m sorry" is just easy to say,
by someone who is wrong and at fault.
The utterance of those simple words,
would put the persons anger at halt.

Those words are so meaningful,
yet, oftentimes exploited,
by those who are insincere,
because there’s no one they feared.

Imagine if no one knows the word,
and simply ignore the fault they made.
Then the world might be filled with anger,
and world peace will never be fulfilled.

People then must bear in their minds,
whether mistakes are big or petty,
once committed purposely or not,
one must know how to say I’m sorry.

Hold Me, Lord

Lord, I maybe far
from You today
But I know You hear
what I say
And tomorrow I wish
I'll find the way
To walk towards you
and forever stay.

In every step that I make
please guide me
For the wrongs that I did
please forgive me
In times that I forget You
please do not forsake me
And when I cast some doubts
please enlighten me.

Take my hand, oh Lord
and let go of me never
And when I losen my grasp
please tap me and steer
Back to Your open arms
so Your voice I could hear
And tell me not to stray
and stay with You and be near.

The Good Life

Having a fruitful life
is what we always aspire
And that when we grow old
we have the things we desire.

But sometimes we tend to forget
that life is not that easy
And the things we wish to have
can only be attained through the hard way.

Sometimes the journey is rough
and not as bland as we expect
We may experience some hardships
before reaching the goal that we have set.

However, there are a fiendish few
who choose to take the shortened way
Not heeding of the watchful eyes
and never care of what others may say.

Yet, there are some who choose to take
the road that was designed for life
They endure even the hardest blow
and survived from whatever strife.

The fruitful life that we dream
once achieved, we feel so joyful
Much more, it feels good to savor
the end result of our good hard toil.

Wishful Thinking

At the flourishing tree, I stare
blankly,
While imagining your face that looks
so lovely,
As the wind blows its leaves
gently,
My memory runs back to
yesterday,
When we dreamed to be together
‘til eternity,
The glorious days that we shared
happily,
Those times when you and I walk
unreservedly,
Passing through the bumpy road
so bravely,
And sailing on a tamer sea
so smoothly.
Then, I questioned God when you
left me,
Why you had to depart from me
too early?
Leaving me in this world being
so lonely,
Now, what I have is just your
memory,
And a picture in a frame smiling
at me.
Darling, I long that you’ll return
one day,
A wishful thinking that will
never be,
For you are now in the arms of
The Almighty.

Stalker

Am I lost of words to utter –
That I’m muted when you are near?
The sight of you makes me quiver,
And to approach you I have fear.

Am I lost of any other place to go –
That I only go to where I would see you?
I know most of the things you do,
And wish that I’m part of it too.

Am I already trapped in your world –
That it seems hard for me to avoid?
Tagging along and I still get hold,
Of the foolish ways that I can’t moved.

Am I insane or a love addict –
That not seeing you I seem feel sick?
But upon seeing you I’m so quick,
And by your side I wish I could stick.

The actuations I can’t comprehend,
The weird feeling so hard to pretend.
When will I have the fortitude –
To get out from this attitude?

Guro, Marangal Higit Kaninuman

Maghapon siyang nakatayo at nagsasalita,

FRIEND

,

Every one of us wishes that,
along the road we’ll find someone ,
who would truly stick with us,
every time, may it in sorrows or in fun.

Who would dare to criticize us,
if something off beam we did,
or praise us once in a while,
of the good deeds we’ve made.

It maybe hard to find one of such,
like the stars that scatter above,
to find one that shines best,
and wish to keep as we could have.

But sometimes fate plays on us,
and thought that we already found,
someone who we can call “a friend”,
who’ll stick with us wherever we bound.

But in times of trouble and needs,
and in moments of desolation,
when we were left in a nowhere land,
only then, we’ll know that we were alone.

Now, when time becomes so kind,
and would give us a faithful friend,
it’s a chance that we should waste not,
and keep that one until the end.

When She Passes by

I gaze behind the curtain
Draping at the windowpane
The rain is falling outside
And I see a woman standing at the roadside

As she moves, I watch her carefully
As she impatiently waits for a taxi
She waves at every PUV that pass
For half an hour one had stopped at last

Suddenly, I felt the loneliness
And to hold her was what I wished
But all I can do was to watched her
As she hops in and commanded the driver

The taxi moves from slow to fast
Until it was gone from my sight
Then I look again at the curtain
As it gently swayed by the wind

The rain had stopped falling
And so I went back to thinking
Dreaming that at this time tomorrow
She’ll pass again to ease my sorrow

POVERTY (a haiku)

The plates lay empty
Echo the stomach craving
On table there’s none.

Lived in a shanty
So filthy the clothing wears
Sun peeps in the roof.

Walking on the streets
With wishful thinking of such
But nowhere to go.

Dream of tomorrow
That luck may shine for a while
And hardship is gone.

There’s nothing to weep
On the society blame not
Nor ask for mercy.

Stare the truth we face
In this society we lived
We fight to survive.

Dream, keep on dreaming
Pray, pray, God is there always
Just keep holding on.

RainShower

I see the rain
that showers down
and touches the leaves
of the thirsty plants.
The water then permeates
the earth and
drenches the roots
of the thirsty plants.

I see the rain
that showers down
and touches the skin
of the desiccated soil.
The water then flows
down to the river
finding its path
towards the open sea.

I see the rain
that showers down
and touches the face
of the concrete grounds.
The water then stays
and never moves down
then slowly rises
and overflows the earth.

LARAWAN

Keep me in your Heart

A long time ago,
the day when I’m with you,
when together you and I,
we used to look up in the sky,
watching the stars up high.

Back then… we used to dream,
of a happy life to beam,
and endured the storm that came.
We kept holding on for our love to last,
and waited ‘til the storm had passed.

Now, the storm may have gone,
yet, our struggle for love isn’t done.
For as long as you and I shall live,
we shall not be short of love to give,
and in each promise we have to believe.

But darling, if you’ll decide to leave me,
trouble not your heart for I won’t disagree,
and rest assured that I’ll wait for you in eternity.
But then, I wish you will never depart,
and forever you’ll keep me in your heart.

Ten Years

“For the last ten years”,
As intoned by Kenny Rogers.
“It’s been quite a trip”,
For a lot of things happened.

I’ve been to a lot of places,
But I knew not about your activities,
Nothing I heard about you,
But I never forgot your face.

Now, ten years have gone,
And there’s vagueness in me.
Would there be an opportunity-
That we’ll bump each other and see?

I kept you in my thoughts, until one day,
Someone had whispered to me.
A whisper that gave me life,
And told me that you’re alright.

I know we’ll come upon again,
And when that time comes,
I will kiss and hug you tight,
For in ten years I kept you in my heart.

Having not make known for a decade,
You may no longer recognize me,
And if so, I will open my heart,
For you to see that you’re inside.

Desire for Love

So lonely as I peek at the window
Waiting for you to pass by
Again and again but it seems
Myself has never get tired.

Though it is uncertain
But I still keep on waiting
To have a glimpse of you
Once you pass by our house.

Then I dream that at night
You will be by my side
And in the morning when I rise
I'll hear your voice that's so pleasant.

When would that day comes
That I have you wherever I go
And embrace you whatever time or clime
Not worrying about those discerning eyes.

But all remains a dream
And will never be fulfilled
For even though you exist
You’re in the arms of someone else.
