Love and Heartache

In the quiet of the night, where shadows softly blend,
I trace the echoes of a love that won’t amend.
Your laughter’s gentle trace still dances in my mind,
A melody of moments we were destined to unwind.

In every sunrise I find the ghost of your embrace,
In every fleeting twilight, I still seek your face.
Yet time, the cruel thief, has stolen what we knew,
Leaving me with memories, and dreams that we once grew.

Your absence is a silence that speaks in aching tones,
A void where once our hearts beat in harmonious zones.
Each heartbeat is a whisper of the love we used to share,
Now fading into shadows, lost within despair.

The promises we made, now fragments of the past,
The tender words we spoke, just echoes that can’t last.
I wander through the remnants of a love that used to be,
Holding on to fragments of what we once set free.

Oh, how the night winds carry the weight of dreams undone,
A heart that’s torn and tattered, in the wake of setting sun.
Yet in this sea of sorrow, where heartache meets the dawn,
I cherish every heartbeat of a love that’s now withdrawn.

For though the pain is endless and the tears may never cease,
The love we shared was worth the cost, a bittersweet release.
So here’s to love and heartache, to the joy and to the strife,
For in their tangled dance, we find the echoes of our life.

Tears in Waiting

I think it is now the time for me
To weep and let my tears fall down
For I now slowly feel and see
That it’s time for you to leave the town

Darling, when it’s time for you to leave
Please hold my hand and say goodbye
Then a hug is all I have to give
And whisper you that I’ll be standing by

I’ll wait until you return dear
Even if my waiting is vague and nil
And even until the end of my life comes near
For time may pass but I will stay still

When you're gone, I’ll set my eyes to no one
And keep myself in a solitary place
And once I hear that you’re back in town
I’ll seek for you to fill my heart’s empty space

However, when we’ll meet again dear
And I’ll find that you’re no longer mine
To bother you I will do never
And keep my tears until my dying time

Stay Beside Me

Come, listen to the sound
of the chirping crickets,
of the night bird,
and other insects.

Come, we sit
on the fallen tree,
reclined on the earth,
then we watch the stars above.

Come, place your head
on my shoulder,
and your long hair,
the fragrance I smell.

Come, feel my warmth
and I feel your warmth,
in the cold night,
I hug you tight.

Sometimes

Sometimes in our life, there’s an instance,
that we were given a chance,
To choose the road to take and walk on,
and decide on things that come along.

Sometimes, as we walk along the road,
we meet someone we can’t avoid.
That no matter how we try to evade
the heart always takes the lead.

Sometimes, we try to fight it out
to overcome the things we doubt
But no matter how strong we are,
the heart prevails in this war.

The battle between the heart and the mind
is a war so hard to beat and bind.
For when a feeling is at stake
only the heart will reign and direct.

Sometimes, no matter how a thing is wrong
the heart sees nothing but beauty alone
And whatever the world will comment,
the heart will follow what is meant.

The bottom line now is to face reality,
to follow what your emotions say,
But never sacrifice what makes you happy,
At the end of the day, your decisions stay.

Seasons of Love

It was in fall when I met you
As you walked with a gloomy face
There’s no one cared, neither one had noticed
But in my fleeting look, I saw some grace

Then fall had petered out and winter came
Fate had intrude and I met you again
I thought I saw you appeared so calm
With a graceful walk but a cold grin

When spring had arrived I was hoping
For interference from a prowler fate
Then I saw you with a genuine smile
A stunning beauty had made me quiet

The summertime was the most wonderful
Strolling around holding each other’s hand
The fulfilled time and cheerful hearts
Changes the life that used to be bland

Simple Christmas

I have a wish on Christmas day
not for me but for everybody
a wish for all to be merry
but celebrate in a simple way

As clock ticks and years are fast leaving
Christmas celebrations are changing
from simple one to profit-making
It becomes the way for carousing

So thrilled that people tend to forget
that Christmas is not for sumptuous feast
neither the reason for pricey gifts
It’s Christ who makes the Christmas complete

To rejoice depends on your belief
and it’s not all about the word thrift
perhaps it’s a pleasure for yourself
but Christ came with nothing for Himself

Sure, you have the right to expend
and. . . we have no right to contend
but if you have the means to spend
let Christ be as the pleasing end

I Will Go Home (tribute to Fallen 44)

I will go home now, my dear
After a day of sweat and fear
After a day of fatigue and hunger
After a deafening noise of blasts and flare
I will go home and rest, my dear

I will be home soon, honey
After a day of precious journey
A journey to unfamiliar territory
For it is part of my sworn duty
To protect you and our country

I will go home now, mother
Knowing that I have done my share
In ensuring that everyone out there
Would be out from any harm or fear
I will go home but can't hug you, mother

I will go home now, my children
Not to answer your questions of when
Of when are we going to play again
Or safely stroll every now and then
I’ll be home to be with you, my children

I will be home to be with you, Father
For I have nothing more to render
The end of my journey is now near
Near until I’ll be by your side, Father
I’ll be home to be with you, forever.

Happy Life

Music to the ears, the sweet words to hear
Saying “I wanna grow old with you”
How to fulfill, could it be true
So easy to speak, yet, not easy to do
A thorny road, a windy path
A narrow-mind, a jealous heart
Petty quarrels sometimes the start
Words are easy but deeds are faint
Not as easy as the dream you paint
When the mouth speaks, actions should present
Love is the key and not some luck
But others say you must have pluck
For love vanishes once hardships struck
It’s not her or him to adjust with you
But the other way around and should be you
It’s not a hoax but a factual view
For if both of you have the same thought
And the complex life you have fought
Not only one will benefit but both
Happy life commence not with I love you
Neither completes with I love you too
Giving and giving in is the right way to do

If Tomorrow Comes

If today, there are things that I do,
And tomorrow you won’t see me doing so,
Do not wonder nor perceive any fear,
For sometimes there are systems we need to alter.

If tomorrow you won’t see me smiling,
Don’t ever think that I’m sad.
If tomorrow you won’t hear me laughing,
Don’t ever think that I’m mad.

If tomorrow you would see me frowning,
Perhaps there is something in my mind.
If tomorrow you would see me departing,
Don’t ever think that I’m leaving you behind.

I may be gone tomorrow but fleeting,
And meet you again in the right place and time.
When tomorrow becomes yesterday parting,
We’ll look forward to a new season and clime.

If the new season becomes our today,
Perhaps, ‘tis the time that I longed and pray.
But, if I could only restrain the moving time,
I will rend tomorrow’s leaf so it won’t come.

All About Heart

A poem about heart
Words from the heart
Posted everywhere
Scattered everywhere…
But sometimes hard to understand

A heart that smiles
A heart that bleeds
A heart that weeps
A heart to keep…
Only a lover could understand

A song from the heart
With love and harmony
A melody that soothe
A symphony for both…
Music that keeps lovers bind

Love is for the heart
And for those ready to be hurt
Love is not all a heart’s gain
So think likely about pain…
The vagueness of love that drifts around

In a Trance

In the silence of the night, I hear...
the gentle steps that are coming near.

My heart beats faster as I waited...
for the familiar voice to be heard.

Seconds count, a minute, then an hour...
waited ‘til my spittle comes to sour.

I rushed and opened the timid door...
and saw none but footprints on the floor.

I come after the footprints and search...
saw a man, on a bench he perched.

I look around hoping to see you...
and the man told me where you went to.

Then, I realized I’m in a trance...
and from the corner I see your glance.

You’re in a frame with a simple smile…
darling, you’re gone… not just for a while.

A Strong Heart

As dark as the clouds in the sky, telling
that a heavy rain is about to fall;
a poignant heart is about to burst
and tears would fall while looking at
the shadow fading, swallowed by the dark.
As vague as an object standing
from a distance, of a pale color,
unknown to the viewer; a stranger?
a feeling inside quite hard to explain;
love or hatred? Trying to decipher,
but now and again it exists and contend.
As searing as the heat of the sun in
a summer-sky; the intense heat that
withers and annihilates the green fields
and the flowers, and thirsting the birds;
a heart that was warm and loving
which becomes weary, now refrains from
sobbing, piling-up some strength.
As odorous as the fragrance of the flowers
that blossom in the month of May;
a new love blooms that gradually
brings a smile to a worn out heart.
As calm as the tranquil sea after
the storm had passed, with the seagulls
flying or resting upon the peaceful water;
a soul that used to battle against
life and love’s hostilities, now
more composed and vexes no more.
As happy as a child that plays around,
so carefree and frets not of any peril,
for there’s a hand who will catch and
pamper, and caress the battered flesh;
a woman who weathered the storm
of infidelity, now stands strong and
positive, for now there’s a shoulder
to lean on, stronger than before.
Love sometimes is full of complexities,
at times down and battered, but
a strong heart survives nevertheless.

I hope it's gone

There comes a time that I feel like stopping
In watching the stars in the grayish sky
For it appears that they have stopped twinkling
And they no longer smile but rather cry

I wonder if it’s because I’m mourning
And everything I see is black and blue
I wonder if it’s because my heart weeps
And beauty was no longer in my view

I mourn, I weep, tears falling on my face
Stars falling like fireworks in New Year’s Eve
The full moon’s bright but shadows hiding me
Hiding my heart which smiles no more but grieve

In the morning when the sun starts to peep
It does not shine but I see it frowning
It startled me and so I blink my eyes
Only to realize I was not dreaming

Perhaps the sun condoles with what I feel
Or marvels about my disposition
I wish to answer but none can be grasped
For my heart quivers and finds no reason

Tomorrow, I wish that my mourning’s gone
And I hope my tears will stop falling down
So shadows won’t hide me from full moon’s bright
And the sun will shine and no longer frown

Be My Wife

There will never be someone
who could replace you my dear
for I can’t find anymore
someone who’s very sincere.

Someone like you who’s simple
and whose love is so ardor
for you are far beyond compare
and only you that I adore.

If there are times that you hear
saying my love is not true
please don’t take it in your heart
for they’re just envious of you.

Today, I say it to you
that I will never depart
tomorrow I’ll say again
forever, you’re in my heart.

I felt that I am so blessed
for having you in my life
so blessed that I now promise
I want you to be my wife.

I Let You Go

Felt a little ennui
As I waited for the midnight hour
Then I heard the footsteps
Drawing near towards the door
I heard no word but a sigh
Which a weary sign of goodbye

Then the sky beams
With the fireworks cracking
Painting the grayish sky
As the midnight-clock rings
It’s a new beginning

And I heard the door snapped
It may not so loud
To contend with the outside cracks
But to me who is in woe
It was a deafening sound

I gazed at the stifled door
And the shoeprints on the floor
Thinking to follow you
But, I never did
And so. . . I let you go

I let you go
I let you go
Leaving my heart in blue
But in melancholy I’d rather be
So your heart would be in glee

Trust Me

So many times you’ve asked me
If how much I care for you
So many times I answered
More than anyone else can do

The question you asked to me
Seems to bother me my dear
For it appears that in your heart
There is uncertainty and fear

I feel your lack of trust
And fear that I’ll leave you
For your action speaks of your thought
Even if you won’t say it so

I want to tell you to relax
And have peace within your heart
Don’t get upset with useless thought
For we will never be apart

I will not run away from you
Nor I will hurt you my dear
And to give tears in your eyes
Is what I will do never

Wishful Thinking

At the flourishing tree, I stare
blankly,
While imagining your face that looks
so lovely,
As the wind blows its leaves
gently,
My memory runs back to
yesterday,
When we dreamed to be together
‘til eternity,
The glorious days that we shared
happily,
Those times when you and I walk
unreservedly,
Passing through the bumpy road
so bravely,
And sailing on a tamer sea
so smoothly.
Then, I questioned God when you
left me,
Why you had to depart from me
too early?
Leaving me in this world being
so lonely,
Now, what I have is just your
memory,
And a picture in a frame smiling
at me.
Darling, I long that you’ll return
one day,
A wishful thinking that will
never be,
For you are now in the arms of
The Almighty.

When She Passes by

I gaze behind the curtain
Draping at the windowpane
The rain is falling outside
And I see a woman standing at the roadside

As she moves, I watch her carefully
As she impatiently waits for a taxi
She waves at every PUV that pass
For half an hour one had stopped at last

Suddenly, I felt the loneliness
And to hold her was what I wished
But all I can do was to watched her
As she hops in and commanded the driver

The taxi moves from slow to fast
Until it was gone from my sight
Then I look again at the curtain
As it gently swayed by the wind

The rain had stopped falling
And so I went back to thinking
Dreaming that at this time tomorrow
She’ll pass again to ease my sorrow
