Father

Days, months and years have passed
But it’s only now that I’ve realized
When it’s my time to be like you
A man, a parent and a father too
The things that then you’re doing for us
Quite vague that my young mind can’t grasp
You seldom speak of what’s on your mind
But when you do, there’s so much sense behind
You seldom scold us or lift your hand too
And we quiver whenever you do
You’re not so sweet but a great provider
With that, we know you loved us so dear
We may not have everything we want
But there’s contentment with what you grant
For whatever material aspects that we lack
Emotionally, we have so much luck
In this world, no man can be so perfect
But for us, you’re so great in every aspect
Father, in our hearts you’re always the best
And for us, you exceeded among the rest

Mother

A spank from her,
We deemed it as a punishment.
A lecture from her,
It annoyed us, back then.

We sometimes felt the resentment,
For she only sees our blunder.
There may be times that we ignored her
For we thought she doesn't care.

“I know what I am doing”,
The words we may have uttered.
We used to say “this is my life”,
That was what we often declared.

We thought we knew where to go,
That we can walk away from home.
We used to think that we were right,
But then, WE WERE WRONG.

She silently cries, whenever she hits us,
That is what we do not know.
In every wrong deed we make,
There’s an agony she doesn't want to show.

Mother, why we have misunderstood you?
Your intent that we misinterpreted,
Your goal to make us grow upright,
It’s only now we realized your good deed.

Missing Yesterday

How I missed the days that were gone
When as a kid I only play
Whatever problem, I care none
Looking forward for the next day

I missed the days when I’m in school
Learning new things to feed my brain
Sometimes naïve and being fool
And learns to take success and pain

I missed the days when I was a kid
And during times when I am sick
For mother stays beside my bed
Giving me medicine to take

The yesterday I really missed
For it was when I learned to dream
It was the time that I had wished
That someday I soar and gleam

Those days full of memories
Is now part of my history
Whether there was fun or worries
I’ll always miss my yesterday

Our Parents

There were times in our life when things happen
Which when we were still a child, we wonder
In our minds there were questions that arose
And Nanay was always there to answer

Sometimes, there were heavy tasks to be done
Maybe perplex that requires a strong arm
Tatay was always there to give a hand
Making sure that we’re out from any harm

Our life may not have been so abounding
For we’re not born in a silver platter
And though in some things we were deficient
Our parents’ love made us not to bother

Nanay was truly the light in our home
Who guided us in every endeavor
And Tatay was the strength to depend on
Who supported us with so much fervor

Nanay and Tatay may not be perfect
But for us they’re not simple but the best
And if a chance we come to life again
We will choose Nanay and Tatay with zest

ExciteMent

I smell the scent of the country,
See my family with all smiles,
See their faces with glee,
But all are chimera in my mind.

The long journey is dreary.
The scenic view is hideous.
Every minute is akin to a day,
Toting up to the excitement I suffer.

There’s the endless road I see,
The roaring vehicle I hear,
People around me seems to be muted,
I believe they feel the same too.

I close my eyes with the keenness,
To open it at my place of disembarkation,
But only to awake in dismay,
For the destination is not yet imminent.

Again and again I close my eyes,
But everytime I open it, I'm still seated.
Again and again I would visualize
My family hugging me with all smiles.

For Tatay (Father)

Your once muscular built,
now it has fade.
Swept by the passing times,
that made you weak.

But back in your grandeur days,
when you have the power.
Doing everything you can,
to feed your family.

Reminiscing the old times,
when you have the strength.
Full of spirit and vigor,
supporting your kids.

All the endeavors you did,
could not be repaid.
The discipline you instilled on us,
is beyond compare.

You may not have been so expressive
of your love to us.
But we strongly felt it,
in your actions and deeds.

You may have lost your strength,
but not our respect.
And our love for you,
will forever stay.

NANAY (mother)

There are million words to explore,
But I couldn’t find one,
For words are not enough,
To express my gratitude,
Nor it could pay off for what you did.

Is it enough to say thank you, or
Once in a while think of you, or
Talk to you if I want to.
Well, I believe it’s not,
For I owe you my life.

The shortcomings and anguish I gave you,
Yet, you forgive all my misdeeds.
You sacrificed everything for me,
And give the things I need,
Your noble deeds can’t be repaid.

I already lost count of the times,
That I planned to tell you,
Of the feelings I have,
To say thank you and I love you,
Even those words are not enough though.

Now, time maybe is running out,
For me to embrace you always.
But never I will be ran out of time,
To tell the world how proud I am,
That you are my “Nanay”.

sA aKing PaglisaN

Sa aking paglisan ay baon ko . . .
ang alaala n'yo,
mga matutunog na halakhak,
mga sigaw ng kagalakan,
matatamis na halik at yakap.

Sa paglalakbay ko sa malayo . . .
kayo ang nasa isip ko,
dadamhin ko ang inyong paglalambing,
iisipin ko ang inyong mga ngiti,
daldalhin ko hanggang sa paghimbing.

Ako'y maglalakbay sa dako pa roon . . .
na masasayang alaala ang baon,
walang katumbas na ligaya,
na may mga ngiti sa labi,
at sa inyo, pagmamahal ko ay mananatili.

Pretty and Free

When you speak up,
you bring glee,
with your innocent ways
and actions that’s so lively.

To me, you are my clown,
for you always make me smile.
You are my joy,
and always be my baby Kyle.

Your pretty face
can not be ignored,
your talkativeness, takes me
away from being bored.

You always speak up
of what’s in your mind,
exercising the freedom
of an innocent child.

Pretty and Free
that’s what Kyle Frances means,
you may be loquacious,
but you give my life a sense.

Strong and Womanly Beautiful

Brave and strong
that is your personality
and for me, you possess
a beauty that’s not ordinary.

I picture in you
some of my qualities
and it appears you inherit
some of my abilities.

You are the second “ATE”,
but to me you are my choy-choy,
you show potency
but yet a little coy.

You’re one of the three pieces
of my life’s puzzle
which I desire and hope
that I could fully assemble.

Charleigh Belle,
that is your name,
Strong and Womanly Beautiful
that’s what it is meant.

my Beautiful Defender

When I first saw you,
unexplained happiness was felt.
Your beauty fascinates me,
as I look at you unbelievably.

You are my flesh and blood,
it’s what I could only stress,
while keeping you a glance
and give you your first kiss.

Your face speaks up for your name,
Beautiful, that’s what Farrah is meant,
and when you grow up
I wish you’ll be potent.

You are my Alexa,
Defender is what it signifies
a character I desire you would have
and in your life you would apply.

You are my refuge from now and then,
for you are my beautiful defender.
During uncertainty I will count on you,
hope you will not waver.

they could make me cry

Watching my little ones,
is a feeling I can’t explain.
Listening to their laughter,
there’s a joy from within.

As they play around,
running, shouting and laughing.
As they reach for my hand,
feeling of happiness was overwhelming.

In all my endeavors,
they are my strength.
In times of trials and gap,
they are my only link.

I may be feeling so strong,
and in everything I could try,
But somehow I realize,

They could make me cry.

PiLLoW

As I lay down in bed,
you give comfort
to my tiring head.

When I’m weary,
I hug you.
When I’m pondering,
I embrace you.

When I sleep
you’re at my side,
and never leave me
even when I lay astride.

The Road to San Isidro

There’s a barrio I know
named San Isidro
where the people dwelling
the source of living is farming.

Never been to the place previously
until meddled by destiny
When I met you my dearest
and you brought me to your place.

In a province called Leyte
a great part of Philippine history.
There lies a small town
a municipality named Tanauan.

One of its barrios is San Isidro,
quite a far place to go,
a place then unknown to me,
until you showed me the way.

Now it is the haven
of you and our children.
San Isidro will now stay
a part of my memory.

my Three ANGELS

Uncertainty is what I felt before,
my concern is just the present and not the future,
At times my life seems has no direction,
and striving to find the essence of being on my own.

Then one of you came into my life,
unexplained happiness is what I felt inside,
overwhelmed by the beauty I have in sight
slowly I begin to take a diverse path.

Still drowning in a feeling of glee,
when one of you came unexpectedly.
Though it was not planned but I felt so glad,
another blessing and a gift from GOD.

Though am already pleased with the two of you,
but more gladness I felt when another one came through.
Though a little hardship was experienced,
but you brought a sense of completeness.

The three of you is my treasure,
and my promise to all of you is a better future.
I beseech guidance and pray not to fail,
and I offer my life for you MY THREE ANGELS
.
