Christmas, Giving and Changing

One of the great occurrences in humanity
The birth of Christ is one that we could say
For it shows God’s love and generosity
A gift that we should cherish everyday

On Christmas, as we go out and celebrate
Reflect that it’s because of the Christ’s birth
It is the season for joyful cheers
And not the time for solitude and tears

As we go out on Christmas morn
Flaunting the new garbs that we put on
Forget not that the Christ was born
Simple and not with precious clothes on

Christmas is the time for giving
And also the time for changing
Change from the unpleasant to better
Should be a habit and not just for a year

You may think that it would be unusual
Or a change could be so special
But bear in mind that with the Christ’s coming
God performed a very unusual thing

Starting the Day

I wake up in the morning with a sigh
A glimpse at the gray clouds covering the sky
Starting the day, I am not happy.

Switch on the TV and watch the morning news
A terror group is on the loose
Corruptions here and there is being exposed
Starting the day, I am not happy

Commemorating the past tragedy
A year had passed still seems no remedy
People are whining and keep on begging
Not for a decent but just for a simple living
Watching… my teardrops start falling
Starting the day, I am not happy

I took a taxi and hurried for work
But it seems faster if I’ll just walk
In the avenue that I everyday pass
Vehicles are at still wasting its’ gas
My day has started, and I’m not happy

But then, who cares of what I feel
What is the significance of what I tell?
Will it change the world if I am sad?

We can walk… we can run and even have fun
We can cry and vent out the whines
We can criticize or we can sympathize
But then, if we will just realize
Nothing will change or be revolutionized
Unless the changes will start from ourselves
Then, we’ll get the happiness that we deserve
And I or you will start the day… we will be happy

If I can

If I can fly,
I will take you to the highest peak
So you would see what’s on the ground
For I know you heard the whimpers
But you never seek where it’s coming from

If I can slip back,
I will take you to a place in the past
Where people lived in harmony
For I know that peace is what you seek
But never tried to put it into effect

If I can walk on the water,
I will carry you on my shoulder
We’ll watch the dwindling species of fish
For I know that you want it to flourish
But your commerce could be in menace

If I can time travel,
I will take you with me to the future
To build a cleaner and greener environment
For I know that you loved nature
But you only watch it being ruined

If I can . . . only if I can
But all is just a whisper, or
Perhaps a song of a dreamer
For like you I’m a hopeless crusader
A fantasist with so much fear
