Whatever we have was just borrowed,
The life, the wealth, and all that we see,
Even our health and the knowledge we have,
All of those things are just temporary.
Do not boast if you are strong and smart,
Nor brag of your riches and power,
Do not claim that you have everything,
For in a snap it may disappear.
The past gave us so many lessons,
From what yesterdays people have been,
The rise and fall they have experienced,
Are stories enough for us to learn.
The wealth and power we have acquired,
And the life we have is so finite,
Like a balloon that easily burst,
Life’s existence has terms and limit.
