I Think of You Because

I spend the day reminiscing,
As I sit alone in a patio,
Watching the blooming violets,
And the falling of rose petals,
The tiny bird that hovers,
Which I could not recognize,
As it landed weightlessly,
On a stunted Lemon tree.

I think of the moments we shared,
The happy and depressing days,
That we both have conquered.

I think of the funny things we did,
As we frolic in the park,
As we run under the rain,
Playing like innocent children.

I think of the unforgettable day,
When we have a petty quarrel,
Over a non-sense trivial thing.

And above all, I think of you,
Because of the happiness you brought,
Because you changed my life,
From dull to one with significance,
Because you selflessly steered me,
From going out of a guided way.

Waning Love, Friendship, and Opportunity

Three colored doves on a cable
With its claws firmly clinging on
As the wind oscillates the line
Holding on so as not to fall

Then, one dove flew away
Flapping its wings towards the sky
From the naked eye it was gone
Leaving the two birds still sway

Oh, the heart that speaks of love
Why did it depart and never came back
Parted from the creature so uncaring
Now lamenting for the love that had died

I watch what the two doves will do
Will they move also and flail away?
To follow what the other one did, or
Stay as the coil blows them so

Suddenly, one dove opens its wings
Flapped to the horizon that seems near
Leaving one bird alone on the wire
Tightly on the cable it still clings

Gone was the memory of a friend
Who stood by through mirth and pain
Probing now the moment to acquaint with
To have a word why amity has to end

I wonder what the remaining dove now feels
Being alone and no one to contend with
As the wind swings the wire harder
I doubt if the bird could stand the gales

I wish I could help the poor bird
To let it stay for the entire day
However, I move not from where I stand
And so the dove, soon had disappeared

How many times an opportunity passed
Thinking that a better one will arrive
Not heeding of the options and times
Chasing now the chance but none can be grasped
