As I peek at the window pane,
stare at the outside surrounding,
witnessing the coming of the dusk,
gradually wrapping up the orange sky.
As the row of towering poles flare,
on the sidewalk the children play,
vendible goods lay on the concrete floor,
making use of the lighted poles.
A usual spectacle at night,
gives life to the dusky surrounding.
But I wonder what will happen,
if tomorrow there will be no light?
Would I still see the children play?
Would they be in the sidewalk running?
Would I hear their laughter again?
Would they enjoy the dark evening?
Would there be someone who has courage,
to light up and raise the torch?
Well, all I can do now is to hope,
that tomorrow light would still beam.
